Due to Cybersecurity Reasons, India bans 43 Chinese Apps

  • Previously, India banned popular apps like Tik Tok and PUBG Mobile.
  • These apps have India as their biggest overseas market

On Tuesday, Govt. Officials from India said that India is banning 43 more Chinese Apps which include apps like Snack Video. India is one of the biggest internet markets in the world. Previously, more than 175 apps were banned from China due to various reasons.

India said due to Cybersecurity reasons, they had to block or ban these applications. The IT Ministry of India said, “This action was taken based on the inputs regarding these apps for engaging in activities which are prejudicial to sovereignty and integrity of India, defense of India, the security of the state and public order”.

Popular apps like AliExpress, Snack Video, Lalamove, and many more apps are to be blocked in India as per the reports. Due to this, there will not be any Chinese App in the Top 100 in India. PUBG Mobile was banned in September in India due to which it has to face a big loss. Now they partnered with Microsoft and Registered a Company in India. They publicly said that they will invest $100 million in India. Tensions between the world’s two most populous nations escalated after more than 20 Indian soldiers were killed in a military clash in the Himalayas in June. Ever since, “Boycott China” sentiment has trended on social media in India as a growing number of people post videos demonstrating the destruction of Chinese-made smartphones, TVs, and other products.
