Raipur, Chhattisgarh — In a startling incident on Sunday morning, three passengers were injured when an iron pole fell on a moving train on the outskirts of Raipur. The mishap occurred around 9:30 AM as the Shalimar Express, en route to Lokmanya Tilak Terminus (Mumbai), passed through the Urkura railway station.

The iron pole, positioned near the tracks, struck an AC coach, shattering its window panes and injuring three passengers, including a young boy, according to railway officials.

Upon the train’s arrival at Raipur station, the Railway Protection Force (RPF), Government Railway Police (GRP), and other rail personnel promptly attended to the affected coach. First aid was administered to the injured passengers, who were then transferred to a local hospital for further treatment.

Following the necessary checks and ensuring passenger safety, the train resumed its journey towards Mumbai around noon.

The purpose of the iron pole near the tracks remains unclear, prompting authorities to launch an investigation into the incident. Further details are awaited as officials continue to probe the circumstances leading to the accident.
