National Conference (NC) Vice-President Omar Abdullah announced that NC President Farooq Abdullah will participate in the INDIA alliance’s “Loktantra Bachao Rally” at Ramlila Maidan in Delhi on Sunday.

This engagement aligns Farooq Abdullah with broader opposition efforts against the current administration, highlighting the INDIA alliance’s collective call for the preservation of democracy.

Omar Abdullah, the Vice-President of the National Conference, emphasized the party’s authority in deciding his candidacy for the Lok Sabha elections.

Despite speculation and reports suggesting his potential candidacy from Baramulla, Abdullah clarified that such decisions remain within the purview of the party’s high command.

He addressed rumors and underscored the timing of the candidate announcement as a strategic decision by the NC, pointing to broader electoral strategy considerations.

Additionally, Abdullah criticized the BJP’s selective critique of dynastic politics, highlighting its alliances with dynastic political entities while opposing those critical of its policies.
