Alibaba crossed IBM in Cloud Infrastructure Market with more than $2B Revenue

In 2015, Alibaba entered the Cloud Infrastructure Market with a lot of hope. After that, their growth is just increasing. They are doing so well in this market that they beat IBM in this market. Alibaba initially started as an E-Commerce business in China. With time, they invested in other kinds of businesses and Alibaba Cloud is one of their businesses.

Now, Alibaba announced its quarterly revenue in Cloud called ‘Alibaba Cloud’, which turned out to be $2.194 Billion. With this huge number, Alibaba crossed IBM’s Cloud Business whose revenue is supposed to be $1.65 Billion as per the market share numbers from Synergy Research. $2 Billion is a large figure for most people and businesses, but, companies like Amazon are doing so well with the Cloud Infrastructure Business with a revenue of $11.6 Billion.

As you can see in the list above, Amazon secures the first position in the Cloud Infrastructure Market, the biggest reason might be its reliability and scalability. With a whopping $11.6 Billion in revenue, Amazon is the biggest cloud service provider in the market. The second, third, and fourth position belongs to Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud, and Alibaba Cloud with a revenue of $5.9 Billion, $2.9 Billion, and $2.194 Billion respectively.
