Lenovo is doing the innovation work at its best. Since quite some time now, folding displays have been available on the market. The stage is set for larger screens to take over thanks to companies such as Samsung and Motorola investing in the technology and developing foldable smartphones.

Performance and Media

There are five cores and five threads in the Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Fold. Using Turbo Boost and Hybrid technology, this processor maxes out at 3.0 GHz using its base clock speed of 1.40 GHz.

The RAM and storage are both fast SSDs, which makes booting and loading applications faster thanks to 8GB LPDDR4X RAM. In terms of graphics, the Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Fold is equipped with Intel Integrated Graphics.

Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Fold comes with a 5MP IR front-facing camera for video conferencing and Lenovo Mod Pen, a stylus for drawing on the large touch screen. With only two USB Type-C ports, Wi-Fi 6, and Bluetooth 5.1, it is the only folding laptop on the market.

A Nano Sim card is available that supports both 5G and 4G networks. This folding laptop is claimed to have a battery life of up to 8.5 hours. A rapid charging technology of 50W is also available. Optional accessories include a Bluetooth keyboard and a Lenovo Mod Pen.


Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Fold is available globally for $2,379 USD. Its base model (which is sold for about Rs. 2,50,000 in India) has a storage capacity of 256 GB, and it will have a price of Rs. 3,29,900.

There is no other folding laptop to compare with the Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Fold. Nevertheless, many of these laptops are quite expensive due to the fact that they each have top-of-the-line specifications, both in terms of performance and graphics.
